The thing about gaming is l like playing mind games w people. l like playing dirty mostly but lately in general, lm trying to play solid. As in honest, fair, good gameplay. Straight up beating someone because l could manuever and outplay someone. Not beat someone because they fell for 3 of my tricks and died. l like putting people in bad situations where just by probability alone, not only is the outcome in my favor but the end result is worth the risk/reward. With gaming, l've lost all my patients and have been in Redbull 20x YOLO AGGRO KILL SHIT Mode. Its a fun mode and dominates anyone scared of me but at higher levels its not working out. lm gonna have to play more patient again to get to another level. After the past 2 weeks, lm gonna take a lil lil break from being super competitive and just mess w some games for fun and then go hardcore again in prob 2-3 weeks. New King of Fighters 14 came out which lm gonna mess w and some steam games lm curious to play. lm glad l've been finding more gaming time lately.
KK soooo my past 2 weekends and shit.
8/18 Thurs got up early.. like 5am early. Did work and took it easy. 5am is always a nice time to work because its quiet and l dont feel rushed. My 'to do' list that always sits on my desk helps me really get my shit done, helps me focus but also brings anxiety looking at this whole list of shit l have to finish.
Headed out for Johnny's home inspection which went really smooth and just kinda hung out till the inspector was finished and me and Johnny checked out the lil repairs needed. Hit home and got my haircut and yoooo Sarah makes me look so good. She really cuts my hair perfect. Hit up The Lab afterwards to find out they were closed for the day being away for a Smash Tournament lol... damn it. Hit home and got a hoagie and stuffed face while watching Its Always Sunny and then packed my stuff and drove out to Baltimore to hit Bounme's where we hung out, played some Street Fighter 5 and bullshitted the night away.
Friday got up for Otakon and wasnt in a major rush. Getting in at 6am is kinda pointless as by 9am, you've alread checked out everything. l never really do any of the panels or video rooms. Its just the Dealer's room, Art Gallery and the Gaming room thats fun for me. And seeing cosplay and shit. Got there around noon and got in the pre reg line and got my badge within 5 mins. They did a really good job shipping out badges early and also doing early badge pick up on thurs so the long line hassle we use to run into was nothing. Last yr, l went at 6am with a group lol.
Hit the gaming room to check the tournament times and ran around to shop around. l usually like to run around and take pics of everything l like and then buy shit towards the end of sat so l dont gotta carry all my shit all day and also to compare prices as some places have the exact same item for $10-20 less depending what it is. Hit the art gallery and we did the same thing. Friday we didnt dress up. Just fun running around w friends and catching up w old friends there.
They werent doing a Magic the Gathering draft which l was pissed about cause l like winning their little 8 man tournaments which l always get a ton of free cards at. Plus draft is always fun. The playstyle of draft is MORE what l like about Magic the Gathering. It's more simple and more about math and weighing your options. Midrange creature combat w combat trick spells and 1-3 bombs that will change the game when you drop it. That playstyle is in favor of my favorite color combo - Red White. They have the best little creatures and Haste(popular in red) and First Strike(popular in White) l think are amazing basic combat abilities. Yea you could say Flying is great for the evasion but if lm paying 3 mana for a 3/2 that's hitting you every turn and you're paying 4 mana for a flying 2/3 drake that's hitting me every turn, l dont really care since lm gonna win the race. Also lm gonna have more mana long run to play more things faster.
Goof's girlfriend Jane was Jubilee and BY CHANCE there was 3 other random Jubailee's in the room and they all came to her one by one and we took pics. Like.... it's not a mad popular cosplay to see so the fact there were 4 all in the same like 50 ft was pretty ridiculous.
Got food at the bar in the hotel connected and caught Pokemon w our bartenders lol. Fighting Pokemon everywhere since we were by the Orioles stadium. Got drinks and food and it was a nice pit stop. We later saw a Dragonite on Pokemon GO and ran out and tried to find it. Seeing other people run left and other people saying 1 block corner, we ran to get it but it was too late. We just missed it. Bounme had a chance at it but it ran from him.
So hit up the Street Fighter 5 station and the Pokken Stations and went 9-1 in Pokken... eventually losing to Bounme as l was teaching him and buying him more time to play by losing round 1 and then actually losing somewhow round 2. l was feeling really confident in Pokken Tournament and feeling decent for Street Fighter 5. Watching people doing dances to their fav kpop tracks and well... we kinda had to drink and laugh. We're not bullies if they dont hear us making fun of them.
Ended the night back at Bounme's for a night of drinking and hookah as me Domkey Vee and Bounme just killed some food and slacked all night. Really chill fun night. We ended it watching movies and knocking out mad late.
Sat we got up early and l had to quickly hit the Gaming room for the Pokken Tournament tourny. Signed up and got a little practice in. Tournament time.... First opponent was another Machamp. From playing Avery at The Lab, lm use to it. The problem w a Machamp vs Machamp match is that my damage output advantage doesnt exist anymore. l was eating yolo splashes and random unsafe recklessness. l later started just letting him do stupid shit and punishing him for damage. Beat him pretty easy after that and he was pretty upset. Next beat a Blaziken because lm familar w that match too because of Mr.Foo from The Lab. Just beat his ass pretty well. Beat a Garchomp next and it was a slaughter. Matt(Plural)'s Garchomp from The Lab is much better. 4th match l faced a Weavile who beat me 2-0 on game 1. Then beat me in Round 1 of the next game... l was about to be eliminated. l couldnt stop trembling. Then l started counter attacking like crazy and actually took it back. Wasn't use to the match up so well because no one at The Lab plays a Weavile. Grand finals l had to play a Gengar which lm also use to because of Jeremiah(Mezza) from playing him at The Lab and just whenever he's around. Beat that ass 3-0 no problem. 1st place bitchesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

l was so fucking happy. l was also shaking still from being scared every match even tho most of the time l was just slaughtering everyone. Its like... l was confident but afraid each opponent would try new shit and beat me but l didnt want to do different shit to stop him and he doesn't change anything and now l start losing. So in general... l wanted to keep doing what l was doing till l get figured out. Actually tho... grand finals l fucking murdered that Gengar 3-0 so fucking clean. lm awesome. Really l got mad fucking lucky for 2 reasons....
1. 4 of the 16 characters are hardcore zoners which are good against Machamp and l didnt face any.
2. 4 of my 5 opponents were using characters that my friends from The Lab use so l was really really comfortable w the match up.
Whatever, lm the Pokken Tournament Otakon Champion hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!111
So along w that, me Bounme Vee and Domkey were wondering what Hack was gonna cosplay as cause he wouldnt tell anyone. We knew it was something 2016 and we were like 'One Punch Man?!' but then if he'd shave his head or not but then we were like.... he's got the balls to shave his head for a cosplay....

We were dying and his cosplay was good. He was asked by people for his picture more than any of us. We hit his room to drink and change into our cosplay or fix it up. Took some pics and headed out. The squad went to drink and watch the Talent Show which l wanted to join but l wanted to of course enter the Street Fighter 5 tournament first. So Pokken Tournament they allowed 32 players while Street Fighter 5 they allowed 64 players. l figured l'd make it to top 16 or top 8 and if lucky, top 4.
Well...... l kicked a lot of fucking ass again.
l ended up having no problem running through people till Top 4 where l had to face KDZ. KDZ is an EVO Champion at Injustice and an amazing player in many games alone. Said whats up as l havent caught up w him since a previous NJ competition. l went into 80% sure l was gonna lose. KDZ was my 5th opponent. Somehow, l won. Final game, final round, final hit.... Double forward dash, empty forward jump, Critical Art Point Blank FTW!!!!!!!!

Then went into Grand Finals and got my ass beat 0-3 clean and took 2nd place. Fuck.
KDZ used Ryu and the player l faced in Grand Finals was also Ryu. A match up l really gotta study in general. So... 2nd place, lm happy about it still. But lm greedy and l wanted the stupid bragging rights of 2 1st places at a single tournament, even if it is just a con event. My friends wouldnt hear the end of it. l wouldve been sooooo0o obnoxious about it lol. Its fun being obnoxious. So the squad came back and we hit back as Bounme gave us a little photoshoot that was really dope. Hack's One Punch Man.... dude.... so good. Hung out, drank and made a funny video of ANBU After Dark.

Had a lot of fun and stayed up, eating smoking and just had a good time being together. l dont get to see Bounme and Vee as much as l use to(besides me oddly seeing Bounme a good amount lately) since they live in Baltimore and l dont travel as much as l use to so lm glad we had the weekend together.
Sunday pced out in the evening and stopped by Chinatown to get money and stuff from Long. Got Popeyes on the way back home and stuffed face while watching Its Always Sunny. Did a ton of work as l had to catch up big time on all clients and downloaded a steam game that l won as one of my prizes from Otakon... some $60 Japanese RPG that's extremely well liked but l dunno if l'll like it. We'll see. Ended up on the phone w Teresa for over 3 hours afterwards talking bout tons of stuff. Didnt realize how fast the time flew. Stuffed face some more watching Its Always sunny and knocked out.
Monday got up late and did work all evening. Rita, White Rob, Josh and Char joined me outback for hookah and bum like activities and its always good just having friends over to socialize. Its so simple to just sit around and talk. You just need SOME activity even if its bullshit to meet up. Like getting Starbucks for a little. Caught up on gaming news and watched shows and ate food.
Tues got up late again and did work all evening peacefully. Went out and bought a fuckloada groceries and watched Its Always Sunny while eating a mad late dinner. Afterwards.... spent the entire night playing Pokken like crazy. l like to play for like.... 7 hours or more when l game because when l get into it, l dont stop and l can really focus. l cant play for 1-2 hours... thats wayyyy too short. l rather go all out like a madman. So l ended up playing Pokken Tournament for 10 hours lolollol into Weds morning.
Weds l finally went to bed before lunch time lol uhhh... Got up mad late again and did work and then headed out to Canton. Canton is another new Chinatown spot and we were all going for Linh's birthday. So got in and got food w Jomel May Cindy John and more people swung in. Hit downstairs and got drinks and there was a lot of karoake singing and shots and shit.

Very fun times being w everyone as l didnt get to see them all the past weekend being in Baltimore and l knew l wouldnt see them the weekend coming up being away for Summer Jam X. Jomel got this massive $500 bottle of champange for everyone. Thank you. Was mad good and in general had a really good time being there w everyone.
Hit home to eat leftovers and watch Pretty Little Liars. Did work throughout the night and had JudyD's twitch stream on the side as l just turned on Twitch seeing who was on. l dont watch Twitch often like l use to and its crazy seeing how well set up Judy's stream is now. Maddd professional. l pride myself in that l was the reason she started streaming. She saw me doing as l'd post on Facebook and she got into it. She's doing really well in it and is sponsored by a few different companies. Finished my work late night and knocked out.
Thurs spent the evening working and then headed out to Sam's house warming party. Couldnt make it to The Lab for once. We had drinks, ate tons of food and checked out her new place. Also playing Pokemon GO as shes on a pokestop lol... so lucky. Def a lot of fun and got pretty drunk for a small house warming.
Afterwards, hit OJs for pregame and beat his ass 2-0 as he always beats me high so l was so happy to beat him twice. Feeling back to normal. l need to get my beer pong groove back. Friends came through and had a small pregame of drinks and hookah and then headed out a bit before midnight. Got to Coda and got drinks and was waiting for Manilla to play. Hit the dance floor and me and MikeM eventually found friends and partied w some girls l met at a party prob half a year ago from the Dragonboat team. Met some new people and ended up dancing w this girl Nicah all night. We hung out till late lol.
Friday got up for Summer Jam X as l planned to enter the Street Fighter 5 and the Pokken Tournament' tournaments. Got drinks and food and packed my car and got my hotel. Set up the hotel to be socially comfy and through the night friends came through to drink, play and smoke hookah. Very fun night introducing mad friends together and had fun playing games, doing shots and catching up w tons of friends of the FGC l havent seen in a bit. Partied late night and finally got to bed around 5am......
Sat got up at 8am to sign up for the tournaments.. Afterwards, me Matt Bounme and Mike got breakfast and then headed back up to bum it. Later on went down for Pokken as l was in the 2nd pool. Lost to my 5th opponent being eliminated as l had to face a Braixen player. Braixen is considered Machamp's worst match up. Some say its Chandelure but l feel its Braixen since he can play fairly well upclose where Chandelure is usually dead. Lost right before Top 8 which lm sad about but oh well... its my fault not learning the match up. Honestly... l need to focus on learning how to get in on the 4 zoners of the game. Like truly breakdown all my options and get good at it. Like play as those characters to get what moves are light and heavy. Cubone is actually just a great all around support. Only time l'll use something else is against Garchomp's 50/50 where he keeps you in duel phase till you die. Watched more matches and also played Street Fighter 5 where l was eliminated to my 4th opponent being a friend, Bedtime Buddy. Losing to him final game to his Ibuki. Bedtime Buddy always beats me at The Lab tho so l wasnt too upset to lose to him.

Afterwards, watched some Street Fighter 5 matches on the big screen and hit the room to have people over again. Games, drinks, hookah all night. We got dinner later on and then late night it was just tons of friends and set ups. So people were playing the new King of Fighters 14 early since all the mom and pop shops sell the game early in NYC to get sales lol. l hear of people always getting games as early as a full week ahead of time because of mom and pop stores selling the game early. Had a good night w friends and stayed up till 3am or so.
Sunday got up early to clean and checked out. Watched the Top 8 in Pokken Tournament and The Appleboom got 2nd overall. Good shit. Hit back to shower and clean and bum it and hung up w Nicah in the evening. Didnt really do much being so drained and knocked out early after preparing for my closing the next day and catching up on work since l was gone again all weekend.
Monday got up early and hit closing for Dayu and Su. Unexpected bad events occurred and then l got extremely lucky out of nowhere as the Title company got a cancelled appointment for 130pm so they were able to slip us in to adjust to our change. l was SOOO lucky.....
Closing went off smoothly and lm really happy for Dayu and Su having a really nice spot now in Old City. Their spot in Manayunk was not only far but the parking situation was rough and the home itself was broken up into many tiny rooms. lm glad now they'll be living in a spacious great home along w being right in Old City and not having terrible parking. Along w now paying a mortgage rather than rent. l love working w friends. There is a lot of satisfaction helping friends find a home. Congrats you guys!! Afterwards, hit back and had a small bbq because the weather was SOOOO fucking nice. 80 and sunny, not humid.. Perfect. Got food w Matt and Rita and ScottD and AlexL joined as well and Josh, Brown and Jenny joined when they got home. The 8 of us stuffed face w a simple bbq. Hookah lit... Burgers, hot dogs, sausage. All you need in life. W the mushrooms too. Ahhh... Burgers w mushroom... it'll never get old.
l love fucking bbqs.
Afterwards spent the entire night catching up on so much gaming news. Not only FGC news but just games in general lm hype for. Dark Souls 3 DLC in October l cant fucking wait. Watching my Pokken Tournament matches and watching the Pokemon VG world championship. We'll see if l get into Pokemon on THAT level again. The thing is... there's Pokemon tournaments where its - Pokemon 3ds(the pokemon we all grew up w), Pokemon The Card Game and now Pokken Tournament all 3 at tournaments. So if l go... l might as well enter 2 things rather than 1. Plus l love it. l love it and hate it. Its straight up decision making when it comes to battle time. Deciding on a team, the Pokemon builds and moveset and then which 4 of the 6 you'll use is so much as is. THEN you play against an opponent. Its sooo much. l dunno if l can handle taking that serious while taking Street Fighter 5 and Pokken Tournament serious along w playing other games, getting my work done and maintaining my social life. Everything takes up too much time lol. We'll see.
Tues got up late and did work all evening. Got clothes from Express and chinese food and ate while watching Pretty Little Liars. Bought online King of Fighters 14 but havent started on it yet. Asking around which characters fit what lm looking for in order.
