Some friends will say lm suppose to get married, have kids, get that dream home and other friends will say lm suppose to do whatever l want. l dont have obligations to anyone to live a certain way in my 30s. lm seriously brainwashed by society. Going into my 30s soon is actually quite terrifying. l have SO MUCH to learn that a lot of friends are already doing - getting life insurance, maybe going back to school, marriage and kids being the big one... everything lm suppose to do to take care of my life. We'll see.
l think my party life will be stepping down. Shocker right? Run through this blog and try to find 3 Friday night entries l stayed in and l'll give you a prize. This can be one of them. l NEVER stay in because anything you could be doing staying in on a Friday or Sat night is what you could be doing Sun-Thurs. When its Halloween - you go trick or treating/Halloween Party, when its your birthday - you celebrate, when its Monday - you go to work and when its Friday - you party. lve always had FOMO(fear of missing out) and l even get bothered when my friends are missing out. l try to rub it in people's face only so the next time something is going on, they come through.
The more of my friends out with me, the more fun l have and the more fun THEY have and when we sit around the hookah on Weds night and tell 'remember the time' stories, they are they, part of the story. No one talks about the nights you stayed in, no one talks about the nights you went to the movies or went bowling. You talk about the nights of chaos - the night Adam lost his virginity upstairs in the attic, the night you spiked the jungle juice w Everclear and an entire sorority went crazy, the night you danced in AC till 4am w another friend even tho everyone else hit the hotel and passed out at 230am, the night when Joss fell off an oblisk, the night when we stole the Grey Goose bottle and made 15 drinks of pure vodka and then l met Vicky who is now my girlfriend, the night we went to one club till midnight then Jillian's Lock in till 6am and found the same girls we danced w at the club, the night it stormed at 1am and everyone danced in the rain....... no one talks about that night we went to dinner on Sat night. NO ONE because NO ONE GIVES A FUCK.
l have a great time being out, l have a better time with the more friends are out with me and l love knowing that they are having a great time too. l love dancing, l love my friends, l love making new friends and l love laughing at the utter debachary that ensues(<- check out those big boy words) when lm with everyone out on a night.
Its sad its going to be slowing down.
lve decided to take nightlife as a career more serious. Right now l have the chance to really learn from people who have been in the business side and as much as throwing TONS of house parties and partially setting up some events help, l really dont know much on the management side. Management interests me a lot however and w my two mentors, l plan to learn. When Whisper re-opens, l aim to shadow more which means - no pregame - no dancing. l also aim to shadow a bit more for DNA nightlife and hope to truly make this a very good side career for myself. We'll see. l dont plan to fully stop partying but l should learn now given my opportunities and stage in my life. Its sad but lm excited to learn and gain the skill to manage. lve thrown literally hundreds of house parties in my life, thrown social events and even got some of my friends gigs in nightlife. The potential is there and l really think its my calling.
Real estate is going well too.... but it'd be really nice if l have two careers l love that lm my own boss. Maybe l wont be fully my own boss in nightlife soon but partners would be a good start. Outside of life insurance which lm working on, all other future side careers l want to do - do not have money involved. They are just enjoyable career paths on the side for the sake of doing it. aerghae9rghahgairga lm excited tho.
My week.
Monday got no sleep and hit up Mike's bbq at Tyler State Park. Tons of friends showed and l brought Coronas and liquor along w my hookah. lm sad cause it may be the last bbq of the summer and l wasnt feeling too well to eat much. Usually lm a fat ass at bbqs but the lack of sleep for MULTIPLE days in a row was just killing me. But l dont miss out on bbqs. ld wake up sad if l did. Nothing too crazy and l was too tired to do anything crazy anyway. Oh yea did Mike's ALS challenge yayyy lol. He was double layering in the summer and sweating balls. It made ME feel better throwing ice water on him knowing he wasnt gonna burn out. Def a good way to start the Labor Day.
So afterwards, hit back to the base and cuddled w Brown but his side jawn Jieun kept interupting. Wack. Made a ton of spaghetti to eat throughout the week(which l horribly regret by Friday). Joss came back and the 4 of us ate dinner and watched Master Chef and Hell Hotel and ended the night watching the History Channel Mini series on Houdini, very dope.
Tues ran around running errands, getting rent money and stuff and taking care of some work. Trying my best to study but the website to practice exams is giving me shit. Watching Houdini and working on Modern decks w Brown lol. It was a really simple day. Getting hype about Modern format tho. Legacy not so much since its so.... counter counter counter.
Weds woke up made late and got deck boxes and champagne. Was in the mood cause l was watching the Dark Knight and then l wanted champagne lol. So later on Breslin and SteveC came through and we chilled, drank, ate and smoked before the Magic begins haha. Had a good time bumming it and then later on we started playing and learning a lot.
lm going w Affinity and lm loving it a lot but theres SOOO much to look out for within the deck itself. Things interact like CRAZY that lm always playing myself more than the opponent. Making sure l do things in the right order, keeping things safe, maximizing counters and thinking of what they have and when l should bait and when l should just play things and hope for the best. Its A LOT A LOT but lm enjoying it. Having Breslin play hard against me punishes me and makes me remember my mistakes. Its really good training. lm seriously learning A LOT quick and very excited to not only master this deck but figure out which version of this deck fits me best. Def had a good night w everyone as the guys stayed over for a while. Ended the night playing some Bioshock Infinite. Its not bad. Takes a while for the story to pick up but the gameplay is just meh. lm actually playing more to hear the story.
Thurs took care of groceries w Jieun and had some work to do for a while. Also some things w nightlife and junk. Vicky was gonna come over but her family needed the car she usually takes. So when Brown and Joss came home. TACO NIGHT!!! YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my roomies know what they're doing. Taco night was amazing. We had so many options for each taco. Shell type, meat, lettuce, diced tomatoes, shrimp, guagamgomoleee, cheese, sour cream, lime..... yooo seriously.... lm down for taco night every 2 weeks. It was so damn good. l had 5. Def was a really good meal. Played video games and took it easy lol.
Friday l hit my office for the evening and took care of a lot of junk at home. So.... l was gonna stay in. l was thinking of Rumor Lounge w my old roomate Sameer and his main squad who are just fun ass party animals but my body was just not there. Mostly prob from possible food poisoning, random sleep and l was just hurting soooo bad in general. Usually l can muscle it out but w the wedding to go to along w partying on sat, l decided to just keep in and have a nerd night. Crazy right? But my body lately has just been wrecked.
So Rita, Breslin and SteveC came over. Brown Jieun and Joss joined us in smoking in hookah, drinks and snacking on food out back for a lil while. Cutting up Magic the Gathering proxy cards and had a nice evening w friends over. Later on, me Brown Breslin and SteveC started playing a ton of games of Magic while Joss Rita and Jieun had girl talk outside lol. Def fun playing a ton of games and seriously loving Affinity. Def a really good night and tho l wasnt going out apeshit. l had fun on Friday and l was w friends. Still happy. My body was also happy w me too lol.
So later on was dinner which the steak was great. l cant make a good med rare steak yet. l always make well done. Like whats the trick? Really low temp? l dunno but then drinking and hanging out w Vicky's family was really fun. Plus Lisa and Minh made it out and then met others in her family who party and just had a good time drinking and socializing. Dancing a lil and had a good time. Mostly it was just nice meeting a lot of Vicky's family.
Later on we bounced out and me Vicky Lisa and Minh hit up pregame at Emily/Weili's. Thank you guys as always for hosting pregame. So we gambled and drank but l forgot my hookah!! l knowwww sadness. But def good that Lisa and Minh came out and got to meet a lot of my usually weekend party peoples. Plus Vicky was w us so it filled in the circle ya know? Lost my moneys in dollar yolo hands Texas hold'em lol.
We hit up Recess Lounge as l was promoting there for DNA and l havent been there in a WHILE. So l use to go when l was younger when Old City was more popular. The thing about this place is for Old City, its one of the nicer places and open late. They usually go to 315 330am or so. SeanN and his friend came through as well and introduced everyone together. It was nice being back and got in and got everyone together and Long set me up w a bottle of Goose, thank you. So it being an after hours spot, it does take a while for people to come in. Usual Whisper Lounge time was 12-1230am was when people would start coming in to party till 3am. Recess being open later(which friends who stayed all night said lasted till 330am), people started coming in around 1am. At one point, the crowd just flooded in. People were dancing and SamK was working and l got to catch up w her. Just really good seeing my friends of different groups party together. l hope we start throwing in Recess more often. Its a good venue, just l think people are mostly mind set with center city. l know lm a snob like that. The rough thing is the parking situation w Recess. But its Old City, theres not much of a solution. The mood was better when it got a bit darker as well. But we'll see what the future holds. Hit back late night and me and Vicky snacked and passed out pretty late lol. My hours.
Sunday me and Vicky hit up Oxford Valley mall since she didnt have other clothes for dinner for Emily's. Good thing we went tho cause she got a really cute outfit lol. Saw Will too by chance, we always seem to see each other at the mall lol. Had a lil chill time and then we pced when AdamW showed up to hit dinner. Got Emily and Weili and we ate at Doc Magrogan's Oyster House. So got the all you can eat snowcrab legs and yooo.... l always gotta beat the system. W Vicky's help on cracking crabs, l ate 5 bowls worth. Tho not all bowls had a lot after the 1st. Several us did it so there was a crab eating side of the table and noncrab eating side lol. Thank you baby for cracking so much crab legs for me lol... she was a lil factory for me on the side. Plus her lobster rav sauce was great for mixing in. Def a fun dinner and afterwards we hit up Emily and Weili's place.
PREGAME!! lol jk but we did drink, smoke and eat icecream cake and gamble a lil. Been losing at that house lately!! Dunno whats happening. Had a good hang out and just nice being out w everyone again outside of a club or house party w them. Def glad to make it for Emily's birthday. Ended the night around midnight and Adam drove us back as l was mad sleepy haha.
Made more food and well..... l dont think l made it right. Just noodles and Tom yum soup paste but l think l used way too much.
Monday woke up w the worst stomach pains in my life. So dunno if it was from what l ate late night or maybe the crabs werent cooked well or maybe too much butter... maybe a combination of spicy food w lots of crab and butter.... oh and icecream cake.... yea... my stomach was KILLING me. At one point it felt like a sharp hot knife was in my gut for 20 seconds. Was taking Pepdo like candy. Got groceries of soup and stuff to make myself feel better. Hit the Oxford Valley Mall w AdamW to reserve Destiny as he convinced me and hit back to base to watch MasterChef w Joss Brown and Jieun. l was feeling better but had soup.... the a klodik bar lol. Oops?!
Late night Adam got me and we got Destiny and played that all night along w Egan. Its 3 people campaign and 6 people for Raids. For PvP(player vs player) modes its up to 6v6 depending on gametype. Its interesting but its VERY HALO mixed w Borderlands. Its fun doing epic boss fights and shit. PvP is fun but its not typical COD level of hypeness to play PvP. Its still fun overall but l wouldnt flip shit about it like Dark Souls 2. There was too much hype on this game cause it was Bungie's first outside of Halo in forever. l'd give it a 7/10.
Tues morning l hit up court to take car of my speeding ticket. Going 80 on I-95 being a 55. Its so gay... So took off the points but it took 2 hours cause of all the people there. Then driving home. Slept and then woke up for house showings later w Eric, an old friend and his gf.
House showings went well and it was a good variety of homes for him to compare to. Good catching up w him as well along w meeting his girlfriend. From what they're looking for, its like working w Brown all over again lol and since that was recent, it keeps things fresh for me.
Ended the night w more Destiny w Adam. Ran through some missions and him and Egan switched their roles lol. They both like their new role more. lm sticking w Warlock. l like the whole 'glass cannon' model in a lot of things. We'll see. Slept early cause sleep just hit me.
Weds started the day w booking house showings and bothering clients. Playing some Destiny for a while and taking it easy. Later on hit my office and printed more Proxy Magic the Gathering cards and got wings from Pizza Hut. l just get so sick of cooking. In college l ordered food EVERYDAY!! And it was nice, resturants were close by, the food was good and l'd order enough for a day or 2 so l could just microwave the left overs. And throwing parties frequently made it so buying food everyday wasnt even expensive to me and since it was party money, l didnt feel bad about it. It wasnt hard earned money ya know?
Later on SteveC came over and me SteveC and Brown cut up proxies and Jieun and Joss came down to hang out w us. We all got a good laugh when we realized Breslin had dark purple and dark blue sleeves for the Magic cards and Brown didnt realize it cause he's colorblind hahahaha then we looked at a previous deck that he sleeved up and it was purple and blue all over and we laughed hard. l feel a BIT of a dick laughing at him being colorblind but its whatever.
Funny story - Brown was playing Legend of Zelda Windwaker and he has to use the map to navigate but because he's colorblind, a lot of the colors of the dots blended together and he just go so lost at sea that he quit the game hahahahahahhaha.... l love that story.
Ok back to the night. Just ended up playing Magic, Breslin couldnt show due to very early work in the morning. Had a lot more practice w Affinity/Robots and lm getting what is a good and bad hand. Its rough tho cause the syenergy is SOO good w this deck but even the opening hand has to be... a bit lucky as if 2 things are in the opening hand, the drop is great but if only having 1 or the other starting out. Its meh.. theres multiple paths often and knowing which path to take is only at best an educated guess because l dont know whats in their hand. l may know what deck they are playing but still theres the whole, do they have counter spell, creature removal l wanna bait, something in their hand that destroys artifacts that l may wanna bait w something good but not great. l like the deck a lot tho. Def a chill night. Now ending the night watching Ultra Street Fighter 4, earlier in Next Level in New York and now in SoCal for Weds Night Fights.
Big day tomm w house showings then a meeting w Long about DNA.
