Just in general, so much is going on in the summer. Its hard to keep up. Physically, it's just tiring but I am glad there is always an excuse to be w friends even more than usual. It's so simple but just hot dogs and burgers alone make me love summer. But yeaaa...
...the past 2 weeks. Shall we?!
6/27 Weds l was still up from Tuesday night. Watching the show Genius, eating dumplings and finally went to sleep in the morning. Cause you know. Vampire life.
Got up at 6pm and went over to Soy’s to help move furniture with Alex for a few hours. Me and Alex just talked bout games and stuff. Afterwards hit Hmart and Giant to get things for Nicah’s place and drove to her place for games, food and hookah. So played a lot of Overcooked and then watched the movie 13 Assassin’s which was pretty fun to watch.
Thurs got up and hit my open house for Task Up. Excited to really get this place going. It has so much potential. Afterwards, came by and we got Dim Sum in Ucity and hit back to her place to chill. Played some Street Fighter 5 for a lil and then Andy Nicah and Erica joined on the PS4 to beat Lovers in Dangerous Spacetime. Had such a good time w that game and it ended where it should’ve. We later played some Badlands which is really hard now and then ended the night watching the movie Tau which was REALLY good. I like movies that question artificial intelligence. Like EX Machina.
Friday got up to drop Nicah off to class and did work and booked homes. Got mad chinese food cause lm lazy and you get mad food for your dollar. Vince and Thuy came through and later on Jeremiah came by too and we finished Lovers in Dangerous Spacetime with them too along with finishing Badlands. Badlands got so ridiculous towards the end. Then we worked on perfecting Overcooked levels. Some levels… one time studying it and we get 3 stars on our FIRST TRY. Ended the night watching a movie super late night as always.
Sat did my Open house at Task Up first and l’m still hype to see this place fill up. This business model is def very interesting. Took a nap then hit Ryan’s birthday at his place and caught up w a lot of friends. Lit the hookah of course, ate tons of food, jumped in the pool and just had a good time being there. There were smores which made Nicah so happy lol. Had a lot of fun and stayed a lil past midnight.
Ended the night by stopping by Johnnie Walker Lounge on our way back to Nicah’s even for 30 mins for RichS’ birthday. He got bottles and a hookah and just had fun dancing but holy shitttt it was a hot box. Everyone was sweating hard. Partied till closing and hit back to watch Meglobox and eat and we stayed up all night.
Sunday did house showings w Tanner and Pat early morning. Trying to find the perfect rental for them. Hit back home to chill only for a little then back out to Mont county for more house showings w Paul and his wife. Saw some potential to think about and hit back to get Taco Bell and go home to do work for a little.
Hopped on Depth w the Scumbag Squad. First time in a while. Played a ton of games and yooo… depth is just a simple fun game. It’s clean, it’s fun, it makes you laugh a lot. Played w them for a while and ended the night watching CEO’s top 8 for Street Fighter 5 finally going to bed.
7/2 Monday got up and hit home depot for things to fix a leak problem w the AC generating too much water being so hot out lately. Hit office max to laminate my realtor license and got mad groceries at Hmart and Giant. Ate and watched Boruto and then more Depth w the Scumbag Squad. Played a lot of games and the new DLC is pretty cool. Of course… l cant just play for fun. So ended up reading mad tactics online and guides and all this shit for a while afterwards. Caught up on gaming news and made Tom Yum Soup while watching Black Panther. Ended the night watching more Street Fighter 5 videos.
Tues got up to do work until friends came for FGC night. Friends came earlier and just started on some Street Fighter 5 and some games of Magic the Gathering. Nothing different than most nights but yooo MVP goes to Andres who brought a fuckton of Buffalo Wild Wings and then Mario Tennis Aces. OMG we had fun w that. LOVED this game and it has some similarities to a fighting game. The fact theres meter management makes it very similar and fun. Friends stayed way later than normal since many didnt have work on weds being July 4th. Some stayed till 430am and the ones that really stuck it out w us, slept over being MattK and Andres though Andres knocked out. We watched this anime about badminton who was cool then watched this asian movie TAG that was def crazy till like 9am or so lol.
Weds July 4th NO SCHOOL!!! Hahaha so did work in the evening and ate burgers Josh made. Lit the hookah and just hung out and talked w Jeremiah Josh Mike and Charlene. Headed out to Sam and John’s new place in Olde City and smoked hookah and had drinks and chilled up there. Glad Diamond and David came through as well. We just chilled on the rooftop watching fireworks till 2am.
Hit back to Nicah’s afterwards and saw some of Interstellar as Andy and Erica had it on. We played some Mario Tennis Aces as l got it for Nicah and for myself lol. Hung out till late and then hit back at 430am. Watched a TON of videos on Mario Tennis Aces afterwards cause lm not a filthy casual gamer lol. Watched videos into Thursday.
Thurs I was still up and did work into midday where l knocked out. Got up at night only to go to Nicah’s again w Jeremiah and we just played more Mario Tennis Aces and then hit Johnnie Walker Lounge lol. I’m predictable. We drank and found some friends and then hit back to eat bacon grilled cheese w thousand island dressing. It was pretty good but honestly… just a good grilled cheese is all you need. Stayed late again and then left at 430am again lol. Sorry Jeremiah. I ruined his sleep sced pretty bad. Hit home and caught up on gaming news.
Friday got up late and got Nicah from the train. We went back to sleep and got up for Josh’s birthday. Set up Mario Tennis Aces and played beer pong. Josh made mad food and met a lot of new people. Everyone was really loving Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Kart. It was a good way to play games w new people. Lots of games all night. Beer pong - Mario Kart - Mario Tennis Aces. Partied till late and even Josh went to bed earlier than a lot of us for his own birthday lol. We ended the night watching the Cube 2 Hypercube. Not great but not terrible cause all the stuff at the end was pretty cool.
Sat got up early as fuck and met up w Brown at the Oxford Valley Mall for the Magic the Gathering 2019 Core set pre-release event. Mike came through too and l was set to do what l always do… White/Red Aggro focusing on 2 and 3 drop creatures w haste and first strike. THIS SET WAS NOT ABOUT DAT LYFE!!! So l ended up playing Black/White cause my black cards had wayyy more 2 drops, solid 2 drops too. It was all about lifelink, spells that stole life and flying for me. Mostly for everyone else too. I think its to shut down the aggro meta game in Standard right now as ALL winning decks is aggro AF. Life gaining, though not that powerful overall in Magic the Gathering, is an aggro killer. Aggro decks are built to kill quickly but run out of steam if the match goes on further than it should. So of 54 players, I went 4 wins, 2 losses and took 15th. If I woulda won my last match, I woulda taken 5th(Top8). Brown went 4 wins 2 losses as well but he took his 2nd loss 1 game later which in the long term plus the results of his opponents and all these other factors, he took 8th and made Top 8 taking 20 packs of Magic cards where I took 2….. If l only woulda won my last game I woulda had 20 packs as well.
Sad that it was my 2nd time not making Top8 in the past 4 yrs of prereleases. I usually always go like 6 wins, 1 tie(me and other top player draw on purpose to make top 8) or 5-2 or something. It happens though. I went in too arrogant.
Hit back home to nap and then back out to Elwyn’s house party in Jersey. A ton of people were there. Some that I’ve met and partied w a few times before who I like and then a bunch more. Lit the hookah and met some new people. Drank and its weird… we got crazy but nothing really happened lol. It’s hard to explain. Just a lot of being stupid. Like Tomy dancing w a sparkler and bottle being a bottle girl lol. Had a lot of fun and we stayed REALLY late even though most left since Elwyn wanted more hookah. Stayed till past 3am and really got to get to know and talk w some people l’ve always partied w through them but didnt really have long conversations with. It was nice but l think we got sick being out back in the cold too long. Hit back late and ate food and watched Megalobox till 5am and knocked out.
Sunday got up in the evening and hit Mica’s wedding to help set up. Went out to get some nice cakes from Paris Burgette and hit back for the ceremony. It was nice that Mica asked me to officiate. Had a very smooth ceremony w some funny moments inbetween. The place was mad cozy w pillow seating all over the ground and really good food. Amazing cake too heheehheeh. Really happy for Mica and Aleg and met some of Mica’s family I never met before. Had fun taking pics everywhere w all the nice stuff we had around and Nicah had a blast of course w the polaroid. Left late night and hit back to Nicah’s where we played Mario Tennis Aces and Overcooked w Andy and Erica till l left home. Got home and worked on Magic the Gathering stuff and junk all night while watching Sci channel. Space’s Deepest Secrets is so cool lol.
