There's so much going on lately. Tournaments to prepare for. NJ Real Estate license to prepare for. Katsucon and birthdays and shit going on every weekend. Also Standard Tournaments back at Allstars Collectibles on Monday 6pm and Sat 5pm which l'll be hitting up. April l'll be able to relax a bit more. But we'll see. l'll prob make myself busy w other things to worry about by then.
K so my week.
Weds woke up at 830pm... yeaaaa sleep sced was royaly fucked. Stayed up all night playing a TON of Street Fighter 4, working on my hit confirms. l think me getting hits IN is good, lm good at finding moments on my opponents but l dont MAXIMIZE damage when l do and Akuma deals BIG damage which l dont take advantage of. l chip away which isn't his playstyle. Essentially lm doing extra work for nothing needing to find more moments to get in when really 3-5 openings should win me a round. lm winning rounds with 4-8 rounds openings. Plus l rely too much on landing my Super and Ultra, which lm good at but l shouldn't rely on it.
Had History Channel on for a while and watched some movies into Thurs morning. Got new clients thank you Vee!!!!! Worked w them a little bit and Kristina stopped by to pick up my Real Estate books as shes going to be taking the exam eventually. Got my haircut cause my hair lately was looking extra doofy. l dont get it... l really dont care when lm dressed like a bum or dressed down or when l dont even like what lm wearing that much cause something about what lm wearing clashes and just the whole outfit in general doesnt go together but when my hair is bad...... lm pissed. Got some groceries... well a lot and stuffed my fridge of awesome food and then ended up sleeping early since l was up since 830pm.
Friday woke up early as shit - 130am and started my day off playing lots of Star Wars Force Unleashed 2. Good run through. Beat half the game and watched Ancient Aliens like crazy while taking care of a lot of work and personal goals.
Figuring out a lot of stuff for the NJ Exam. And YOOO I found a site that has practice exams of the STATE portion of the exam. So l dont gotta trial and error the shit outta the exam. Also for NJ its a 70% on each portion to pass rather than a 75% and that may not seem like a lot but l also failed my State portion of my PA Exam by ONE question - twice. So yea, that will help. Later on pced out to drop off Allison in Philly and got Vicky. We had a lil down time to chill b4 meeting up w Brown Jieun Tiago Cindy AdamZ and Nicky for Restaurant Week. Took 25 mins to get parking. Forgot, friday evening Philly parking would be ridiculous.
So met up w everyone and ordered food but l was disappointed that Serafina took off the steak on the menu for restaurant week however they were still serving the steak to people who ordered it. It was simply 'grilled steak' they took off which is what we were gonna order. So we still got the Restaurant Week menu stuff but money wise, it probably wasn't even worth it. Vicky got Fried Calamari($10) Pasta and Tiramisu for dessert costing $35 which seems steep for pasta costing $18. I got the Calamari, pizza(wasnt too good, only ate 2 slices) and choc cake. Just overall for dropping $100(tip 20% included and tax)... l was like... 'what did we really get for $100?!' ya know?!
So far my favorite places to eat in Philly is Fogo De Chau, R2L, Fat Salmon. Those are the 3 that stood out by far to me and l've eaten around Philly a good amount. But anyway - the good thing bout restaurant week was going out, trying something new w friends and just being together. It was a really fun dinner talking about korean girls and pokemon. Good to finally meet Tiago too. He's serious when it comes to gaming since he plays Pokemon(#4 in the US on Doubles(which is how VGS national tournament is held)) and Magic and Street Fighter. Afterwards, dropped off Vicky and then hit home. No clubbing for me since l was already passing out on the road going home being up since 130am.
Sat woke up early for house showings w my older asian couple. Checked out a home and hit home to do more research on it afterwards and do comparisons. Had History Channel on all day and took a nap in the evening. Later on got up and hit up Eric's place to play Street Fighter 4 and hookah. Had a good afternoon and then got Vicky and hit up Hai's place for pregame. Pregamed, did shots and mixed drinks and had a good evening before hitting up SoundGarden Hall for the DNA Chinese New Year Event.
So we hit that up and got drinks, met up w more friends and Vicky read online about the photobooth. She loves Photobooths lol. So we got a group together and had fun w the props. Me and Vicky got a second shoot of just us heheheh. So hit up the dance floor and had fun dancing w Vicky, acting retarded. Lucky money was being thrown out by gogo dancers. Eric met some girls on the dance floor and mostly stuck w Vicky David and Diamond through the night. Had a great time dancing in general and changing up the atmosphere somewhat.
Pced out late and got food at Ken's Seafood and got take out. Hit her place and stuffed face before hitting home. Very nice evening as always w the girlfriend. Hit home and knocked out immedietly.
Sunday woke up at 830am just for the Magic the Gathering Pre-release tournament. So l went w white since Baro said White was the fastest after Sat's pre-release tournament of 90 people, which he also won. So Breslin and Hack met up w me and we build our decks and had Breslin work on our decks for us. He did a really good job as me and Hack did fairly well. Hack went 4-2 but then left for the Superbowl which lm mad at him for. He had 12 points and if he woulda won his next game, lm sure he would've been in top 8. From Top 8, who knows, anything can happen. But yea, he left early to prepare for the Superbowl party.
So my deck was well built but it had one problem.
Time.
It was a grind down deck. Pretty much, l gain life(also opened the Whip which gives all my creatures lifelink which won me some games) and l pick away at their life. Hit for 1 here, steal another 1 there. Maybe sneak in one big swing. Overflood the board w more creatures, creature advantage, card advantage ect. The problem is... you get an hour time limit to finish the match, best of 3 games. My 2nd and 3rd match both ended in ties. The 2nd game, won one, lost one and time ran out in game 3 after the 5 extra turns. So close to winning game 3 tho if there was a few more turns. 3rd opponent, l won game 1 and just won game 2 at the end of the time limit. The problem is.... so many new cards are in play, you gotta make sure you make the right choices and not rush and do something stupid.
So l did one devilish thing in one game that l feel so genius for. Its my 'lm an obvious idiot' move.
THIS SHIT WAS SO GENIUS HEHEHEH and l pull it off on my friends enough to go for it at a tournament. Pretty much, l had untapped mana and 3 cards in hand. She attacked and COULD paid the 'monstrosity' cost to deal me more damage this turn and future turns. After she attacked, l acted eager as shit and asked 'are you gonna monstrosity?!' and looked at my mana, looked at my cards, looked back at my mana and then looked at her eagerly waiting. Really - there was NOTHING l could do but take the damage now and next turn and lose but she thought l had something up my sleeve and was giving it away. She decided not to Monstrosity which saved me damage that turn and the next turn which would have lead to my defeat. l won the game and wanted to tell her but l decided not to incase l came into the same situation w her again later.
l won 2 games, tied 2 games and lost 2 games. However point wise..... each win is 3 points. Each tie is worth 1 point. Losing 0 points. So l ended up w 8 points which isn't good enough after 6 games to get into Top 16. Ranked 19th of 71 players. If l would've turned the 2 ties into wins, it would rank me at 12 points. Pretty much ties arent good. If you get THREE ties, that is equal to ONE win. Which is fair as two ties shouldnt be like a win and loss because wins are more valuable than ties. So yea, they really hurt.
Its another reason why l like to play aggro over control. lm done quick and l can go eat, poop, play on my phone - whatever l want. And theres NEVER any ties.
So afterwards, got Brown and Joss and we picked up food and hit up the Superbowl party and had a really good time w Scumbag Squad. Just stuffed face like crazy and we all ate so much, when the game started, we were full lol. Snacked through the game and had fun making bets on multiple things. SteveC bet me l wouldnt know his football rule that was pretty basic that l honestly didnt know. It was what is the yard penelty for Holding. l knew 20 yards would be wayyy too much and 15 sounded like a lot but 5 is for the small stuff so l just threw out 10, l almost said 9 but l decided to go for a nice round number and l was right haha. $10. Then Steve wanted to double it on the coin flip. l called Tails cause l always call tails and won that too.
Then won $10 from Hack betting on the Seahawks tho l wanted to bet on the Broncos, he was set w the Broncos so l won another $10 off him for that, even tho l wanted to bet $40 on a team. Wasn't a close enough game at all to ever get hype. It was just.... yeaaaaa l got $10.
Glad everyone came through and had a good time just spending time w everyone there as l havent been to Hack's since Dec. Just a really good night together and hit home and bullshitted online, stuffed face some more and passed out at 330am or so.
Monday woke up late and just took care of a lot of work and catching up w clients. Also did a lot of reading for various things and well.... got a lot stressed from all the things l gotta take care of. Small stuff, important stuff, work stuff, personal goals and crap and writing it all down like a friend James said helped but looking at the list makes me cringe. Decided to just lay down at 10pm and well kinda just fell asleep. Now its Tues and l woke up at 430am, watching Smallville, Matlock(havent watched this in forever) and just bullshitting. Vicky is coming over today so it'll be a nice day, make food, help her w her homework and cuddle hehe.
